Getting started

How do I make a mockup?

Open the studio, pick a network on the left and a format at the top. You can also browse all 73 templates. Each one starts with sample content, so just click a name, number, photo or badge on the mockup and type.

Do I need an account?

Not to edit. You only need a free account to export on the free plan, and to like or comment on Explore.

How do I add photos and avatars?

Click the photo or avatar on the mockup (or its field in the editor) and pick an image. It stays on your device while you edit.

How do I add more messages, comments or posts?

Chats, threads and comment sections have an Add button in the editor. Click any item in the preview to edit it or move it, and use the editor to delete it.

Can I make the numbers look real?

Press R to roll believable likes, views and counts. Reset puts the sample content back.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Ctrl/⌘ K searches every template. Ctrl/⌘ S exports. ← and → flip through formats. R randomizes the numbers.

Exporting

How do I save my mockup?

Hit Export PNG, or Ctrl/⌘ S. Pick 1× to 4× in the menu next to it; higher is sharper. In the phone apps you can share straight to any app.

Can I add a background?

Yes. The toolbar under the canvas has gradient frames, padding and rounded corners. Pick None for just the mockup.

Light or dark mode?

Most templates have a Theme option with the looks each network offers: light, dark, dim or AMOLED.

What’s the “Made with socialfaker” mark?

Free exports get a small mark beside the post, never on top of it. Pro removes it.

Where do free exports go?

They’re shared to Explore with your name on them. With Pro, the Public / Private pill next to Export lets you keep them in your private library instead.

Pro and billing

What do I get with Pro?

AI chats, iPhone screens, Spotify, Google search and dating apps (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, iPhone, Spotify, Google, Tinder, Hinge and Bumble), no watermark on images or chat videos, and you decide whether exports stay private or go to Explore. It’s $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, and while they last, $69 once for one of 69 Founder Lifetime seats. See plans.

Which templates need Pro?

The AI chats, iPhone screens, Spotify, Google search and dating apps: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, iPhone, Spotify, Google, Tinder, Hinge and Bumble. Anyone can open them in the studio and edit everything. Exporting them needs Pro. Every social media template is free.

How do I cancel?

Go to Settings and choose Manage subscription. Pro lasts until the end of what you paid for. Founder Lifetime is a one-time payment, so there’s nothing to cancel.

I paid but I don’t have Pro.

Check you’re signed in to the account you bought it with. Pro follows your account to every browser you sign in on. Still missing? Give it a minute and refresh the studio.

Who handles payments?

On the website it’s Creem: card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with tax added where it applies. We never see your card details.

Explore and community

What is Explore?

Explore is the feed of mockups people have made. Sort by Hot, New or Top this week, filter by network. Open any post and double-tap it to like it.

What does 18+ mean on a post?

The post may be sexually explicit, so it shows blurred until you confirm you’re 18 or older. That choice is remembered on your device. Creators mark posts with the 18+ switch next to Public in the studio, and posts whose wording looks explicit are marked automatically. If you see an explicit post without the label, report it as “Nudity or sexual content”.

How do comments work?

Once you’re signed in you can comment, reply, like comments and add GIFs. Creators can pin a comment or turn comments off on their posts. Links and slurs are blocked, and a comment is hidden after three reports.

How do I report something?

Press Report under the post, or next to the comment. Reports are anonymous, and we look at every one.

What are achievements?

Badges you earn by posting, getting likes and joining in, like First meme, Went viral and Chatterbox. They show on your profile. The leaderboard shows the most-liked makers.

Can I share or embed a post?

Every post has Share and Embed buttons. Embed gives you a snippet for your website or blog, and links preview nicely in chat apps.

How do I delete a post?

Open the post and press Delete under it. Comments you wrote have their own Delete button.

Using it with AI

Can I make mockups with Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Connect SocialFaker once, then just describe what you want. Your assistant fills in the template and gives you a link to open it in the studio. Here’s how.

How many can I make?

Free accounts get 10 AI mockups a month and Pro gets 300. The count resets on the 1st, and you can see it in Settings. Making mockups by hand in the studio is always unlimited.

How do I disconnect an AI app?

In Settings, under AI apps, press Disconnect. You can also remove the connector in the app itself.

I’m a developer. Where are the docs?

The MCP docs cover the endpoint, every tool, the limits and some curl examples.

Help

Security and privacy

Is anything I make uploaded?

Not while you edit. Mockups render right on your device, avatars and photos included. Exporting on the free plan needs a free account, and the finished image goes to Explore under your name. SocialFaker Pro removes the watermark and lets you choose: keep exports private or post them to Explore.

How is my account protected?

Passwords are salted and hashed, so we never see them. Sign-in cookies can’t be read by page scripts, and account changes must come from our own pages.

Do you track me?

No ad trackers, no third-party analytics, no tracking cookies. We count page views ourselves, in a way that can’t follow you from day to day.

Are private exports really private?

Only you can see them on SocialFaker. The file itself is kept by a third-party image host at an unlisted address, so treat private as unlisted rather than encrypted.

Where can I read the details?

On the security and privacy page, in plain words.

Using it responsibly

What’s OK to make?

Mockups, parody, lessons, designs and stories. Don’t pretend to be real people or brands, and don’t use SocialFaker to fool anyone. If something could be mistaken for the real thing, label it.

Are you part of X, Instagram or the others?

No. We’re an independent design tool. The network names and logos belong to their owners and are only there to show what a mockup looks like.
